While at Kalamazoo College, I had the privilege of playing and starting for the Kalamazoo College Hornets Varsity Baseball Team. My senior year, I was voted team captain, earned team MVP honors, and was selected to the MIAA All Conference 2nd Team. Although our teams did not play well, I learned a great deal about leadership, dealing with loss, and setting and meeting personal goals. I also learned a significant amount about coaching and motivation, techniques which have served me well in mentorship roles and as a high school assistant coach after graduation. I hope to continue to act as a coach in some capacity, hopefully at the collegiate level, in the future.
