The James River Institute for Archaeology
Since 2011, I have served as a part time field technician for the James River Institute for Archaeology. JRI is a Cultural Resource Management Firm based in Williamsburg, Virginia, and has been conducting archaeological field research since 1986. During my time at JRI, I have conducted phase I, II, and III investigations, with a particular focus on plantations in the James River area. This includes work on military installations, on private land, and also for public resource projects on the state and local level.
I have had the privilege of working with a number of wonderful archaeologists at JRI, including the directors, NIck Lucketti, Garrett Fesler, and Matt Laird. I am particularly grateful for the opportunity and flexibility they have given me, allowing me to work with them on a number of projects, while also allowing me time to work on my dissertation research.
